2004 Julie Klauber Award Recipient

June DeLong Receives 2004 Julie Klauber Award

February 24, 2004 - It is with great pleasure that Keystone would like to announce the winner of the 2004 Julie Klauber Award. The award recognizes one volunteer or staff member who works with KLAS, has shown outstanding service during his/her time with the library, and will appreciate and benefit from attending the KLAS Users Conference.

June DeLong of North Georgia Talking Book Center will be this year's Julie Klauber Award recipient. Charles Stubblefield, Director of North Georgia Talking Book Center, nominated Delong. According to Stubblefield, "June's dedication to helping others often goes above and beyond the call of duty. 'What did the nominee do?' can really be answered by saying that even though June is a part-time employee doing the work of two people she never fails to give full-time care and concern to the needs of the disabled community."

The Award Committee members (Judy Bow, OH, John Mugford, NM, Joann Block, FL, and Mitake Holloman, Keystone Systems) chose DeLong from a field of seven very worthy nominees. Her prize includes airfare, hotel accommodations, and conference registration fees for the 2004 KLAS Users Conference in Boston, MA.
