Librarian / Information Technologist
Software Development Specialist

Software developer in a computer company specializing in library management software. This position is responsible for the design and development of new modules and new features and refinements in existing modules. Must have love for creating solutions, good communication skills, be well organized, and be a self-starter. Must work well with others and accept responsibility to see the job through to completion. High visibility and responsibility.

Basic Requirements

MSIS, MSLS, or MLS
Experience in special, research and/or academic library setting
Experience in relational data base programming
OR
Desire and capability to learn and do relational data base programming

Areas of special competence sought include:

Serials
Acquisitions
ILL
Document Delivery
Image processing
Archive management
Z39 Standards

Primary duties and responsibilities are:

Automation system requirements specification
System design
Programming
Application testing
Technical documentation

Duties may include:

Operation consulting
Installation consulting
Writing marketing materials
Writing proposals
Making sales technical presentations
End user support
End user training
