KLAS Users' Conference 2005 Pre-Conference
To register for the Pre-Conference Training, please indicate which sessions you would like to attend on your
Conference Registration.
Each session will be offered once in the morning and will be repeated again in the afternoon. Please see the registration page for maximum class sizes. Once a session has been filled, a waiting list will be created.
Reader Advisory in KLAS v7
The Reader Advisory class will demonstrate some of the features designed to help you serve your patrons in version 7. The use of Book Search, Notes, Quick Requests, and other features will be discussed.
Cataloguing Maintenance in KLAS v7
This class will cover several issues in Cataloguing Maintenance including loading new MARC records from a file, manually adding and updating title records, adding new copies, and performing headings maintenance. There will be time for hands on practice with these issues.
Preparing for KLAS v7 Conversion
Prior to converting to KLAS v7 you will be given a long list of questions and issues to consider. This session will cover common and not so common issues that have come up during conversions. Participants are asked to bring sample patrons and title records from their systems so we can discuss live issues.
Query Building in KLAS v7
This hands-on session will walk you through using Query to create database subsets. Topics will include how to decide which Query to use, how to use operators and terms successfully, and how to use query results to view records and create lists or labels.
