Software Development Specialist

Keystone Systems is looking for an enthusiastic programmer to join our software development team. This position will contribute to the design and development of our Library Management software. Must have love for creating solutions, good communication skills, be well organized, and be a self-starter. Must work well with others and accept responsibility to see the job through to completion. High visibility and responsibility.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong foundation in data structures and relational database programming.
  • Proven technical troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to handle periodic on-call duty.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired:

  • Experience with Progress RDBMS.
  • Experience in libraries -- special, research, public and/or academic.
  • Experience with Web Services.
  • Experience with Digital Rights Management.
  • Knowledge of Accessibility Standards.
  • Knowledge of Z39 Standards.
  • Knowledge of UNIX and shell scripting.

Primary duties and responsibilities are:

  • Maintenance of existing code base and enhancement of current application.
  • Participate in on-going system design.
  • Design and implement solutions for software defects.
  • Application testing.
  • Technical documentation.

Duties may include:

  • Operation consulting.
  • Installation consulting.
  • End user support.
  • End user training.
